Rieck Group LLC, Facility Services Company and Mechanical Contractor, Deploys Datastream 7i to Drive Service Delivery Business

Rieck Group Creates Asset Performance Management Network among Service Partners to Reduce Costs, Automate Processes and Increase Operational Visibility into Service Delivery

GREENVILLE, S.C., OCT. 24, 2005—Datastream Systems, Inc. today announced that Rieck Group LLC has deployed the Datastream 7i™ Asset Performance Management solution to drive its new service delivery business. This new business unit enables large facilities – such as hospitals, universities, k-12 schools, local governments, office parks and manufacturing plants –  to manage and collaborate with service vendors and Rieck Group technicians through a consolidated Datastream 7i-based Asset Performance Management network.

Founded in 1892 in Dayton, Ohio, Rieck Group provides construction, mechanical-electrical and facility-management services. Through Datastream 7i, Rieck Group provides its customers with Web-based “self-serve” work-request capabilities and value-added benchmarking tools. This combination allows the Rieck Group to automate the work-order process and orchestrate optimal maintenance routines.

“After launching Datastream 7i, we saw a great opportunity to take our deployment a step further,” said Doug Cox, vice president of marketing and business development for Rieck Group. “First, we included our customers in our deployments, so they could place their own service requests directly into Datastream 7i and have on-demand information on services rendered and associated costs. Then, we started letting our customers include other service providers in the system so they could have complete visibility into all of the service activities being conducted in their facilities.”

As part of the deployment, Rieck Group integrated Datastream 7i with its financial software, automating the invoicing process and eliminating the costs and inefficiencies of paper-based invoicing. As a result, Rieck Group’s customers expend fewer resources on accounts payable and service organizations are paid faster.

“It’s a truly powerful solution for everyone involved,” Cox said. “Our customers have complete visibility into their service supply chain so they can manage it better and control costs. And, the service organizations are able to move from paper-based to Web-based processes, which can result in enormous savings. Invoices get filed faster, which means they get paid faster, and this can equate to thousands or even hundreds of thousands of dollars of additional revenue each fiscal year.”

“Rieck Group is an excellent example of how companies are using Datastream 7i to manage service delivery in powerful new ways,” said Datastream CEO Larry Blackwell. “This creative technique of Datastream 7i-driven service delivery provides benefits across the entire value chain, enabling both the customer and its services organizations to reduce costs, improve profitability and improve overall service quality.”
