Dutch Water Management Organizations Choose Datastream 7i
Waterschap Brabantse Delta and Waterschap Zeeuwse Eilanden Select Datastream 7i to Manage Water Quality Infrastructure
GREENVILLE, S.C., Feb. 8, 2006 Datastream Systems, Inc. today announced that two Dutch water management organizations - Waterschap Brabantse Delta and Waterschap Zeeuwse Eilanden have selected the Datastream 7i Asset Performance Management solution to facilitate and automate maintenance, workflow and procurement processes across more than 29 water and sewage treatment plants. Datastream emerged as the vendor of choice due to the companys record of success in the water management industry and its superior product functionality. The Datastream 7i Web architecture, multi-language and multi-org capabilities, usability and configurability were key factors in the selection process.
Brabantse Delta, one of the largest water management organizations in the Netherlands, needed to improve efficiencies across five water plants that were combined into one organization as a result of a merger in 2004. Brabantse turned to Datastream to streamline flood protection and monitor the water level, purification of waste water, and the quality of surface water in an area of more than 750,000 inhabitants.
The Datastream 7i Web architecture enables Brabantse Deltas 500 employees responsible for flood protection, water level maintenance and waste water purification to more easily track critical workflow information, such as work orders and purchase orders as well as improve procurement processes through efficient online ordering of parts and supplies.
Brabantse Delta plans to centralize its operations on Datastream 7i to include maintenance operations for assets tied to purifying waste water, such as sewage treatment plants and pumping stations. By moving to a common platform to manage all of the organizations equipment and facilities, Brabantse Delta will gain increased visibility across all its divisions, resulting in more efficient operations and more informed business decisions.
Another major player in the water management industry in the Netherlands, Waterschap Zeeuwse Eilanden, has deployed Datastream 7i to streamline its maintenance efforts, making critical information more accessible to key personnel.
After a thorough evalution of asset management solutions, Zeeuwse Eilanden selected Datastream as the only vendor that met the organizations five key criteria user-friendly interface, extensive functionality, ability to scale, cost-effectiveness and service quality. Ultimately, Zeeuwse Eilanden also plans to deploy the Datastream 7i Analytics module to gain a near real-time snapshot of the state of operations within its water facilities in order to proactively identify potential areas of failure.
Datastream was the only vendor with the flexibility and scalability required to manage multiple plants and that was capable of supporting our business practices as our organization grows, said John Gooiker, purification manager at Brabantse Delta. The Datastream 7i Web architecture was a critical decision factor, as it enables us to access key infrastructure information, anywhere and at anytime.
Through our work with Brabantse Delta and Zeeuwse Eilanden, Datastream continues to demonstrate its value to municipal organizations around the world, said Datastream CEO Larry Blackwell. Datastream 7i helps our public sector customers improve their operational efficiency and, ultimately, better serve the needs of their constituents.
