Datastream continues to build hosting leadership in asset performance management

Company Now Has 130 Unique Customers and 5,500 Seats Using Hosted
Asset Performance Management Solutions

Greenville, S.C. — June 3, 2003 — Datastream Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: DSTM) today announced that the hosted offerings of its Asset Performance Management solutions now account for more than 5,500 seats and 130 unique customers. Hosted customers include marquee organizations such as Atrix Labs, BBA Nonwovens, Cadillac Fairview, City of North Miami Beach, Del Monte Foods, Lear Corporation, Nucor Steel, Praxair, Premier Manufacturing Support Services and Smurfit-Stone Container Corporation.

“The hosted deployment model has been ideal for Premier,” said Eric Faith, manager, maintenance systems technology of Premier Manufacturing Support Services, which provides outsourced industrial maintenance services to the world’s leading automobile manufacturers. “Datastream’s world-class hosting service is a fast and easy way to gain the benefits of the industry’s leading Web-architected EAM system. And since we work with companies around the world, it’s incredibly valuable to be able to consolidate operations under the umbrella of a single enterprise application.”

Datastream’s hosting success is due largely to the strong market acceptance of its flagship Asset Performance Management solution, Datastream 7i. As a Web-architected product, Datastream 7i enables companies to deploy a single server in Datastream’s hosting facilities, with end-users needing only an Internet connection and Web browser to use the application. This, combined with the product’s broad functionality and Datastream’s strong track record of customer deployment success, makes Datastream 7i an ideal hosted solution for enterprises operating multiple geographically dispersed locations.

“Datastream recognized early on that the hosted model would become an important deployment option for enterprises, which is why we invested several years ago in developing a top-notch hosting infrastructure,” said Larry Blackwell, president and CEO of Datastream Systems, Inc. “Today, this investment benefits our customers by providing them with a truly enterprise-class deployment infrastructure, without them having to build it themselves. Whether they are global companies with scores of sites or a small company with a couple of plants, the hosted model reduces their total cost of application ownership without compromising application functionality and performance.”
